DJ Herbert Holler easily brings out approximately one thousand people each time he deejays. This following is a huge accomplishment and a long journey from his humble beginnings in Atlantic City, NJ where his father worked in the hotel business. Herbert's obsession with the New York City nightlife scene began when he arrived as a NYU student. His first, memorable experience was at the Nuyorican Poets Café, where he witnessed Rocky LaMontagne's "All That" event, a blend of hip-hop, poetry, and spoken word, which left a profound impression on him. He later ventured into Nell's, where he was entralled by the blend of R&B, soul, funk, Latin, and hip-hop. However, Herbert became hooked on music and nightlife after attending a "Giant Step" event, which inspired him to drop out of his pre-med program and pursue a career in nightlife.
This series of experiences and encounters shaped Herbert's career path and set him on a trajectory that would ultimately lead him to become a respected, popular figure in the entertainment industry. Twenty years later, Herbert is a top DJ in New York City, who not only deejays various corporate and foundation events but also hosts his monthly party called the "Freedom Party." This legendary party has recent, pop-up appearances from hip-hop's finest. Watch below:
